OVERVIEW
Discipline Metrics are the quantifiable measures of disciplined behavior — not how disciplined you feel, but how disciplined you act. Feelings of discipline are unreliable. Behavioral data is not. By measuring the specific behaviors that constitute discipline, you create an objective record of your actual performance and a clear basis for improvement.
KEY PRINCIPLES
Discipline is behavior, not feeling — measure the behavior
Consistency over time is the only valid measure of discipline
Discipline metrics reveal the gap between self-perception and reality
Small consistent behaviors compound into extraordinary results
The act of measuring discipline reinforces disciplined behavior
THE PROTOCOL
01
DISCIPLINE BEHAVIOR SELECTION
Identify your five most important discipline behaviors: training frequency, sleep consistency, nutrition adherence, deep work hours, morning routine completion. These are your discipline metrics.
02
DAILY BINARY TRACKING
For each behavior: did you do it today? Yes or no. No partial credit. No excuses. Binary tracking is honest and simple.
03
WEEKLY DISCIPLINE SCORE
Calculate your weekly discipline score: total yes responses divided by total possible responses. Target 85%+. Below 70% requires immediate system review.
04
STREAK TRACKING
Track consecutive days of full discipline compliance. Streaks create momentum and make breaking the chain psychologically costly.
05
MONTHLY TREND ANALYSIS
Review monthly discipline scores. Is the trend improving, stable, or declining? Declining trends require immediate investigation and intervention.
TRACK YOUR PROGRESS
Weekly discipline score (target 85%+)
Longest discipline streak
Consistency trend over 90 days
Recovery rate after discipline breaks
